Track and Measure Orders with Google Tag Manager

We are excited to introduce a new feature in EzyCourse that allows admins to easily track customer orders using Google Tag Manager (GTM). This feature sends important details like Order IDs and Price IDs to GTM, enabling better insights into your sales and customer behavior.

What is it & Why do you need it

The Order Tracking feature allows you to automatically send customer order details, such as Order IDs and Price IDs, from EzyCourse to Google Tag Manager, and then to Google Analytics 4 (GA4). This means you can:

• Track customer purchases with more precision.

• Measure your sales performance and customer behavior.

• Gain valuable insights into which products, courses, or marketing campaigns are generating the most revenue.

With this feature, you can optimize your business decisions by having access to reliable and actionable data.

How it Works

Once the Order Tracking feature is enabled, every time a customer makes a purchase, EzyCourse automatically captures key order details like Order IDs and Price IDs. These details are then sent to Google Tag Manager (GTM), which acts as a bridge to pass the information to Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

In GA4, the data is processed to provide valuable insights. You’ll be able to track customer purchases, view detailed analytics, and monitor the performance of specific products or services. This lets you see which courses or offers drive the most sales and make informed decisions to improve your business strategy.

In short, the feature automates the flow of purchase data from EzyCourse to GA4, giving you easy access to reports on your customer behavior and sales trends.

How to Get Started Using It

Head over to Google Tag Manager. From your dashboard, click New Tag.

Here, create an event tag with Google Analytics Measurement ID, Event Name, and relevant information. It’s better to set a meaningful or mnemonic name as the Event name. Copy or store the Event Name.

You can also choose other options for the tag. Before you save the tag, add a trigger first. Trigger determines when the google tag should be fired.

Now, from your site dashboard, go to Site Settings General Settings.

Scroll down to find the Google Tag Manager Event Tracking section. Enable it and provide the Event Name as set when you created the tag.

You’ll also need to give the GTM ID. You’ll find it on the dashboard of your tag manager account on the top.

Paste in the GTM ID and click the Save button to set up the tag successfully for your platform.

By the way, you can also integrate Facebook Pixel ID and track user behaviors.

By using this feature, you'll unlock powerful data that helps you track your sales, measure campaign performance, and gain better insights into customer behavior.
