Password Reset & Magic Login Mails

What is it & why you need it


It is understandable if any of your students might forget the password to their student account. In such a case, they can still change passwords from their student dashboard, if logged in. And even set a new password from the login page of your website.


Now, you can make this process much easier for your students. With a click of a button, you can send a link to the student’s email from where they can set their new password right away. In addition, you can also send a magic login link to students’ email addresses.


These new options make it easier for your students to regain access to their accounts in certain difficult situations. Ultimately, you improve the overall student experience, providing a quick and efficient solution when they need it the most.



How it works


It is important to understand that there are two distinct features you can use now. One for the reset password option and another for magic login. Both work from your admin dashboard and all you have to do is select an option. 


For reset password, a link is sent to the student’s email address. Clicking that link will take them to the page where they’ll be able to set the new password. 


For magic login, the link is sent to the student’s email address. Clicking that link will directly log them into their account and take them to the student dashboard. 



How to get started with it


To begin, log in to your EzyCourse dashboard and navigate to Users -> Students.





Find the student you want to email the reset password link. Click the three dots and select the “Send password reset email” option. Click this option will right away send the link to the email address of the student.





Students will receive the link on their email.





On the redirected page, they can set the new password and click on the Verify button to confirm the password change.


[Note: The Code field is not of any use to your students and they will not be able to edit or change this field. They can ignore it.]





For magic login, you can go to Users -> Students -> click the three dots on the student and select the “Send magic login link” option.





As soon as you click the option, the student will receive the magic login link on their email address. They can directly log in to their student dashboard by clicking the link from their email inbox, without the need of giving password or even resetting it.
