Course Completion Time in Certificates

What is it & why you need it

Your course certificates will now display the total time a student takes to complete the course — from the moment they first started watching to the final lesson completed.

Many professional programs require proof of time spent. This feature makes your course certificates compliant with CPD and similar standards.

How to get started using it

Log in to your EzyCourse dashboard and head over to the Setting tab of any course.

From there, go to the Certificate option. Here, you’ll find the “Display course completing time on the certificate” setting. Turn it on. Notice that you can also select the course certificate from here.

It is important to note that you must keep the “Allow certificate without completing all course contents” setting off. Otherwise, the completion time will not show up on the certificates. Click the Update button to save the changes.

With this option set for any course, students will receive the certificates with the completion time included. You can preview or set the label on the certificate from Courses -> Certificate Blueprints. Click the three dots on that particular certificate that is assigned for the particular course where you’ve enabled the time completion setting. Go to edit.

[Note: This feature will not work for the existing certificates on your platform. Make sure you create new certificates when using this feature.]

You can change the label for the time completion.

The time is calculated from the moment the student starts watching the course content for the first time. In other words, the first time they click the Watch button on their dashboard.

When they complete the final lesson in the course, the time is set. This is shown on the certificate as the completion time. Depending on time taken to complete, the certificate will show the time in minutes, hours, days, and even months.
