Custom Signup Text Fields

What problem it solves or why you need it

Want to gather more specific information from your students during the signup process? Now you can! Customize and add your own text fields on the signup page of your website.

With this feature, you can take additional details like their preferred learning style, experience level, or anything else relevant to your platform and need. This way, you can take key information as users are signing up on your platform.

How it works

As an admin, you can create custom text fields from your EzyCourse dashboard. You can choose to set certain fields as required i.e. users have to fill those fields in order to sign up on your platform. In addition, it is also possible to add validation to your text fields.

Your users will see the custom fields on the signup form of your website. Once they sign up, they can see their responses on their student dashboard. In addition, you can also view the responses on your EzyCourse dashboard.

How to get started using it

To create your own custom fields for the signup page, log in to your EzyCourse dashboard and go to Site Settings -> General Settings. From there, go to the Auth settings tab.

Scroll down to find the “Add custom fields at signup” section. Here, you’ll find two fields already provided. Phone Number and Degree. You can either use them as they are, or edit them if you like, or even delete them.

Apart from these two, you can add more custom fields. To do that, give the field a name, write the placeholder (optional), and simply click the Add Field button.

Once a field is added, you can of course edit or delete the fields.

You can tick mark the “Show validation” checkbox to see more options such as making the field required (students must fill to sign up), setting minimum and maximum characters.

Click the Save button to keep all the changes.

With the custom fields set, your students will now see them on the signup page.

Students can view and even edit their responses on the student dashboard from the Profile menu.

You can also view the responses of any student from the admin dashboard. Go to Users -> Students -> click the three dots on any student and select the User information option.

From here, you can view their responses to the custom fields on the Additional Information section. You can also edit info.
