Billing Address

What is it & why you need it


You can easily collect customer addresses from the product checkout page of your website. This streamlines the process of delivery, especially for physical products. It also helps to calculate the correct tax and VAT according to the location.


Now, students will be able to add new billing addresses from their student dashboard. This will allow them to change and edit any address at any time. Then they can simply select the address on the product checkout page rather than typing in every time they buy a new product.


It’s another convenient feature to improve how your customers experience the checkout process on your platform.



How it works


As an admin, you can still select the option of whether to collect the billing address for all products or for only physical products. Any billing address students use for purchasing a product will now show on their student dashboard.

From the dashboard, students can edit and add a new billing address. Once a new address is added, it will be available for them on the checkout page to select with a click of a button. They can choose to make an address default also.


For existing addresses, students can edit any info and even delete the unnecessary ones.  


[Note: Students cannot have more than 5 billing addresses simultaneously.]



How to get started using it


To allow students to add a new address, first ensure that the Billing menu is enabled from Site Settings -> Student Dashboard.




With the menu enabled students can access it from their dashboard. 





To add a new address, they can click the Add Address button.





On the popup, they can provide their billing address. Note that there are two addresses; while the first one is required, it is optional to give the address 2.





Notice that the first address automatically becomes the default one.





An address when added will appear on the product checkout page considering you have enabled the checkout billing address settings from the Site Settings -> Checkout menu.


[Note: If you disable this setting, the default address of the student will still appear on the invoices even though billing address will not show on the checkout page.]




On the checkout page, all the info will automatically be filled up.





Students can also add a new address right from the checkout page. Simply select the “Add New Address” option and then provide the new address. 





If they go on to purchase the product using the new address, it will be added to the Billing menu also.





To change the default address, students can click the three dots on an address and select the Set as default option.
