Set Buffer Time in Appointments
What is it and why you need it
EzyCourse offers a smart way to manage your appointments more efficiently with the Buffer Time feature! With this feature, you can now add extra time before and after each appointment slot.
Thus, helping you avoid back-to-back appointment scheduling stress and unexpected overlaps. Moreover, this can also help you to save time to prepare for any booked appointment.
How it works
The buffer time refers to an extra period of time you can add before or after a scheduled event. Suppose as an admin you have created your appointment slots as:
Slot 1: 2:00 - 2:30 PM
Slot 2: 2:30 - 3:00 PM
Slot 3: 3:00 - 3:30 PM
Slot 4: 3:30 - 4:00 PM
Slot 5: 4:00 - 4:30 PM
And you set a 30-minute buffer time before and after each appointment. Now, if a student books Slot 3 (3:00 - 3:30 PM), the system will mark 2.30 - 4.00 PM as booked (including buffer time) on your admin panel.
And since this will overlap the other slots, your students won’t be able to view or book slot1, slot2, slot4, and slot5 also. Imagine slot1 has a buffer time of 30 minutes also at the end which makes it overlap slot3 that is booked at 2.30PM. Same case for slot5 as the buffer time of 30 minutes at the start would mean it starts at 3.30PM overlapping the ending of slot3.
How to get started using it
To begin, log in to your EzyCourse dashboard and navigate to Products & Services -> Appointments.
You can either create or edit an existing appointment. Set the appointment slots in addition to other options.
You’ll now have the option to set the buffer start and end time in your appointments. Click the buffer start & end time and set the timings accordingly. Maximum buffer start and end time is 4 hours. Now, hit the Save button to complete creating your appointment event with buffer time.
[Note: The buffer time option will stay disabled if multiple bookings at the same slot checkbox is selected.]
On the student’s end, if they book Appointment Slot no 3 at 3:00 PM, then the consecutive slots will not be visible when they try to book another slot on the same day due to the buffer time set.
