Marketplace Seller Membership Plans

What is it and why you need it

Introducing Seller Membership Plans — a powerful new way to manage your marketplace sellers with ease and flexibility. Previously, marketplace sellers weren’t tied to any membership-based system, but now it's changed.

Currently, you can create custom membership plans exclusively for your marketplace sellers. With the new Seller Membership Plans, you can now organize your sellers under specific membership tiers, set product creation limits, and manage access based on the plan they choose.

This gives you more control, helps you streamline seller management, and drive growth more effectively. Plus, sellers can easily view and manage their plan at any time, making the whole experience smoother for everyone.

How it works

With this new update, now your marketplace sellers will be under specific membership plans. You can create these plans just for sellers and set product creation limits based on the plan they choose.

You can decide whether the plan limits should apply only to newly added sellers or to both new and existing sellers. If you apply it only to new sellers, then your current sellers will continue creating products based on their previous limits.

However, please note that all existing sellers (those added before this update) are now required to purchase a membership plan to continue creating and selling products. If they do not purchase any plan, their existing products will not be visible on the marketplace, although they can still get access to them.

[Note: "Newly added sellers" refer to those who will purchase the plan in the future.]

You can set the price of each membership plan using our four existing basic pricing options. This gives you flexibility to match different seller needs.

From your dashboard, you can view all sellers enrolled in each plan. You can also edit the plan limit for individual sellers and export all enrolled seller data into one CSV file for easy access.

To display these seller membership plans on your website, you just need to add them to your site using the website builder. This way, sellers/users can view and purchase them easily from your website.

Once a seller buys a membership plan, they can start creating and selling products based on their plan’s limits. They can also view their “Current Plan” and see what’s included in it from their (seller) dashboard.

When a seller reaches its plan limit, they won’t be able to create more products unless you update their plan limit manually from your end.

In addition, they can view all their subscription history and can also download any invoice.

How to get started using it

To begin, login to your admin dashboard and go to Products & Services -> Membership.

Here, you can see two user types - Student and Seller. Select the Seller option to continue.

image

On the seller membership page, you can see all the seller-based plans. To create a new plan, click the “Plan name” field, enter the plan name, and then click the Create button.

Next, go to the pricing option inside the newly created membership, select a pricing option and then set the pricing according to your preference. For now, we’ve included four types of pricing plans.

[Note: You can create multiple pricing plans for your memberships.]

Now, move to the Membership items tab and here you can find all the plans and their limits at the right side of the screen.

image

Select the newly created plan and notice that the default limit is set as unlimited. That means sellers can create products without any limit.

image

Now, set the plan limit for each product and then click the Save button.

image

As soon as you click on it, a popup option will appear where you can either choose to apply the limit for newly added sellers or to all existing sellers.

If you apply Only for New Sellers, then sellers who will purchase this plan in the future will be under this specific plan limit. And the existing sellers will continue creating products based on their previous limits.

Based on this limit, sellers will be able to create that number of products only. You can also update their existing plan limits as well.

On the Enrolled Sellers tab, you can see all the enrolled sellers in each of the membership plans and can export their responses in a single CSV file.

In addition, you can edit the plan limit for sellers from here using the Edit Plan Limit option.

Update each product’s limit and then hit the Save button.

You can also cancel or delete their membership plan from here using the Manage Plan button.

[Note: The Membership plan can only be cancelled when it is enrolled via subscription pricing. And after expiration of the current subscription payment, the plan won’t get renewed.]

image

From the Checkout page tab, you can either set an internal or external after-checkout page for each of the membership plans.

There’s another way you can view and manage each seller and that's from the Seller sub menu.

Seller Perspective

From the seller dashboard, old sellers will see a warning text stating that they don’t have an active plan yet and need to purchase one to start creating and selling products again.

image

Clicking the Purchase Now button will take them to the All plan pages from there they can purchase a plan.

image

After purchasing their plan, they can view their Account Details, Subscription History, and Current Plan options by clicking the profile icon.

image

They can view their current plan details and what plan limits they are getting by clicking the Current Plan option.

image

Also, if they want, they have access to cancel their subscription as well.

image

Once they reach the plan limit, they won’t be able to create new products unless they request you to update it manually.
