Unsubscribe and Campaign Topics on Advanced Email Campaign [BETA]

What is it and why you need it


Email marketing works best when your audience feels in control. The new Advanced Email Campaign Unsubscribe and Campaign Topics feature inside helps organize your advanced email campaigns into categories while giving your users the privilege to choose what type of email they wish to receive and what to opt out of.


You can now tag emails with specific topics such as product updates, offers, newsletters, events, or learning content. This helps to create a structured communication flow where each message has a clear purpose under a specific topic.


For your users, this is definitely a better experience. They won’t have to fully unsubscribe just to avoid a certain type of email. They can simply opt out of specific topics while continuing to stay connected with the content they are interested in.


For you, this leads to cleaner lists, higher engagement, and stronger trust. Your emails reach people who genuinely want them, which can improve open rates, reduce spam complaints, and maintain a healthy sender reputation.



How to get started using it


First, log in to your EzyCourse dashboard and navigate to Marketing & ContactsCampaign Topics. This newly added submenu is where you’ll create and manage the topics to be used in your email campaigns.

To create a topic, click the Add Topic button.

On the popup, enter a Topic Name and add a short Description (optional) to clarify its purpose. Once done, click Create and your topic will be ready to use.

You can also turn off the topic status, which makes this topic hidden when you add it as your campaign topic and also when any recipient tries to manage their email preferences. 


To turn it off, simply click Edit -> turn off the toggler and click the Update button.

Once created, you can now add the topic in your email campaigns. To do that, go to the Campaign submenu -> Start New Campaign -> New Campaign Builder [BETA]

On the ‘Details’ step, you can select a predefined Campaign Topic. Based on this topic, your subscriber preferences are managed. Anyone who unsubscribes from this specific topic will be excluded from all upcoming campaigns tagged with it.

Once your email campaign is sent, recipients will automatically see two options within the email footer: Manage your email preferences and Unsubscribe.

Clicking any option opens a preference modal where they can choose to unsubscribe from all upcoming emails or only from campaigns tagged with the selected campaign topic. Note that only the active campaign topics will be shown here.


Once they have made their selection, they need to click the Save Preferences button.
