How To Collect Business Tax ID

The Business Tax ID feature allows customers to provide their company’s tax registration number during checkout or from their account dashboard. This information is then attached to their invoices and sent to Stripe to ensure proper tax handling.

Many businesses purchasing digital products or services need their official tax identification number (such as VAT, GST, or other regional tax IDs) included on invoices for accounting and compliance purposes.

By enabling this feature, you can:

• Allow business customers to submit their tax ID

• Ensure invoices contain the correct tax information

• Support B2B purchases where company tax registration numbers are required

As an admin, you can configure which Tax ID type customers are allowed to submit.

How to set up

To configure Tax ID type, log in to your EzyCourse dashboard and navigate to Site Settings -> Global Settings.

Scroll down to the Tax ID setting.

From the dropdown, select the Tax ID type as well as the country. This determines the format customers need to follow when giving their ID.

Ensure you save the setting to keep the changes.

With Tax ID configured, customers will be able to submit their business tax registration number from their dashboard. This works as the VAT ID and will automatically show on the Stripe invoice.

Customer End

Depending on settings, the company specific billing info could be taken from a product checkout page, through a popup, or from the student dashboard.

Among the company billing info, there is a field called Company Registration Number. Your B2B customers should provide their Business Tax ID in this field. It is important to note that they must use the correct Tax ID format in order for the whole process to work smoothly and ultimately show their VAT ID on the Stripe invoice.

To add from the student dashboard, they can go to the Billing menu and add an address.

Your B2B customers can find the correct VAT ID format from Stripe’s official documentation.
