Quiz Passing Criteria (By Percentage)

With EzyCourse, you can easily set up quiz lessons inside courses and assign points for each question. There’s also an option to define a passing score i.e. the score students need to get to pass the quiz test.

Now, you can also use a percentage system for the quiz passing. You can define the percentage amount students need to achieve in order to pass the quiz. The percentage will be calculated based on the number of points achieved by the students.

How to get started using it

First, go to edit an existing course or you can create a new one from Courses -> All Courses.

For any existing quiz lessons or newly created ones, you can change the passing type from score (which is default) to percentage. To do that, go to the particular quiz lesson and then select the Quiz Settings tab.

From here, select “By Percentage” as the passing criteria. And simply define the percentage amount on the field below.

Click the Update button to save the changes.

Percentage is calculated according to the total points scored by the students. You can assign points to each question when creating quiz questions or adding them to the quiz.

For example, the total points for the quiz is 20. If the student scores 10 then the percentage is 50% achieved by the student. For a score of 16, the student gets 80% result.

Note that students must achieve greater than or at least equal to the passing percentage you set, in order to pass the quiz test. As an admin, you can view the percentage achieved by any particular student from Courses -> Quiz Submissions.

View the details of any student submission and you can see the percentage achieved.

For free text questions, you’ll have to assign the score from here. The percentage will automatically adjust as you assign the score.

On the student-end, students can also view the percentage they scored after submitting the quiz.
