Student Watch Time Analytics - More Lessons Added
What is it and why you need it
The Student Watch Time Analytics feature provides powerful insights into how your students interact with your course lessons. Previously, the analytics addon feature supported video lessons.
But now, it’s available for almost all the lessons except assignment, download, quiz, and live. This allows you to find out each lesson’s completion rate, never visited rate, visited but not completed rate, low completion rate, page view, page active time, start time, and last visit of your enrolled students.
In addition, you can view the overall course’s in-depth visual metrics like course completion rate, never visited rate, and top lessons chart with specific metric breakdown.
→ We will be implementing AI in this feature very soon. So, grab the Student watch time analytics addon if you still haven’t yet!
How to get started using it
First, you need to go to Addons -> Student watch time analytics & AI menu and check if the addon is enabled or not. If not, then enable the toggler.

Now, navigate to the edit card of an existing lesson. Find the “Enable Student Watch Time Analytics & AI” option under the lesson settings. Enable it and then click the Update button.
You can enable this option for all lessons except assignment, download, quiz, and live.

To view each lesson’s analytics data, navigate to Analytics -> Course Insights.

Here, you have three filtering options. In the first one, search & select a course for which you’ve enabled the analytics option. When done selecting, you’ll instantly get the overall analytics for that specific course.

You can view the total time spent on all the lessons by all the students. Here, the Total Spent Time works combining the ‘Total Video Watch Time’ and ‘Page Active Time’.
You can also view the Play Rate, Average Engagement, and Total Page Visit. The Total Page Visit refers to the total times your students have visited your lesson pages.
[Note: The total video watch time only counts in terms of video lessons. The play rate and average engagement data show when a video lesson is selected.]

Moreover, you can see visual metrics of the Course Completion rate (with number of lessons completed out of total lessons) and Never Visited rate referring to students who haven’t visited the course/lessons at all.

We have also added the top lessons chart on which you can see the top 3 lessons highlighted from the course which has the highest overall score calculated by performance metrics.

The overall score is calculated from metrics like Completion Rate, Page Active Time, Page Views, Visited, Visited But Not Completed, and Engagement.
Clicking the Details button on the top lesson chart shows how each metric counts, lesson information, and metric breakdown.
[Note: Each metric is rated out of 100, and the final overall score is the average of all metrics.]

Now, let’s move to the Individual Watch History section. Here, you can view the course completion rate, total spent time, and start date as usual. But now, you can see additional data like Page Views and Last Visit (with exact, region-based time) for each student.
If you want, you can export all the student data into a single CSV file.

On the second filter, you can select the lessons one at a time and see each lesson's in-depth analytics and different behaviour-based metrics. Except video lesson, when any other lesson is selected, only the Total Page Active Time and Total Page Visit are shown. However, the visual metrics stay available for all lessons.

To view even more specific analytics and metrics of each student, search and select the student's name on the third filter. Selecting a specific student will show only their analytics data.
