Drip Feed Video Libraries

What is it & why you need it

The drip feed system will let you release videos to your audience gradually and in a fixed sequence, instead of unlocking everything at once. You can control when each video becomes available so users move forward step by step, exactly as you design.

You can schedule a video release either by providing the exact date or the number of days based on enrollment. Ultimately, it will help to improve user retention and offer a more premium learning experience.

How to get started using it

You can set the drip feed for any video inside of a video library. If you already have a video library then go to Products & Services -> Video Library.

From there, click the three dots on a library and choose the Add video option to add a new video. You can also choose the View all videos option if you want to add drip setting to existing videos in the library.

At the bottom of the form, you’ll find the drip settings. Selecting Days after enrollment will show a field where you can give an integer value x. This means, unlock the video after x days from enrollment. In other words, the enrolled user will get access to the video after x days from the day they enroll to the library.

The other drip setting, Scheduled Date, lets you select the exact date and time when the video will become available. This does not have any relation to when the user is enrolling.

Note that Days after enrollment drip setting will not work for free libraries. Users get access to everything at once in case of free libraries even if you have the drip setting on. On the other hand, Scheduled Date will work for both paid and free libraries.
