PDF Stamping

What is it & why you need it

PDF Stamping lets you automatically add information like a learner’s name, email, or your brand logo to PDF files. Each file becomes uniquely tied to the user who accessed it, making your content more secure, professional, and protected from unauthorized sharing.

You can use this feature to add watermarks, reinforce brand identity and clearly show exactly who owns it. PDF Stamping will help you safeguard your work, maintain ownership, and discourage piracy.

How it works

You can stamp the following content on PDF files:

• Image (useful for showing your brand logo for example)

• Student/Customer Name

• Student/Customer Email

• Student/Customer ID (automatically generated user ID)

For adding styles and designing, you can set:

• Color

• Font size

• Opacity

You can control how often the stamp appears and where it shows on the PDF. Choose from 7 placement options: top left, top center, top right, center, bottom left, bottom center, and bottom right. So, the stamp appears exactly where you want it on the PDF.

Once you set PDF stamping from settings, you can go on and apply these settings to any PDF document included in any of these course lessons: PDF lesson, Video, Text, PPT, Audio, Assignment, Download, Embedded, SCORM, and Multiple lesson type. Apart from course lessons, you can also stamp PDFs that are part of your digital products.

The PDF stamping feature is only available to Unlimited and Elite users. After you reach the monthly stamping limit, there will be an additional charge of $0.02 per stamp.

PDF Stamping Settings

Before using on your course lessons, you have to enable and set up the stamping settings. To do that, log in to your EzyCourse admin dashboard and navigate to Site Settings -> General Settings.

From there, go to the PDF stamp settings and enable the toggle. As we’ve mentioned, you can choose to place stampings on 7 different areas of the PDF.

For each position, you can include four separate content types: image, name, email, and ID. The name, email, and ID will dynamically be fetched and will show according to the user accessing the PDF file. You can use the image to put your brand logo, for example.

Notice that you can view the stamping and how it’d appear on the sample PDF, on the right side. Click the View Stamped PDF to preview.

You can also change the color, font size, and the opacity of the stamp.

Click the Update button to save the changes.

Enabling Stamping for Course Lessons

Stamping is not limited to PDF lessons only. Rather, you can use stamping on any lesson where you can include a downloadable PDF file. We’ll use a PDF lesson to show how you can enable stamping for any particular lesson.

Go to any existing course or create a new one. Inside the course, create a new lesson and choose the PDF lesson.

image

On the lesson settings panel, enable the PDF Stamp option. This will automatically stamp the PDF file you upload here.

image

Furthermore, you can enable PDF stamping for any downloadable files you include with lessons. This is not limited to PDF lessons only. Any lesson that lets you include a downloadable file as a PDF, you can stamp those. Simply upload a PDF file.

And then, enable PDF stamps for it.

Note: If you make changes to the PDF Stamping settings (Site Settings → General Settings) then you have to first delete the already stamped PDF lesson files and re-upload them again in order to apply the new changes. Otherwise, old settings will continue to apply.

Stamping on Digital Products

There are two ways you can add digital products: i) Uploading file and ii) Providing a URL.

Uploading

When creating a new digital product or editing an existing one, choose the Upload option and then upload a PDF file.

After file upload, you can easily enable the stamping for the file.

URL

Choose Link as the downloadable file. And then provide the URL. For example, it could be an URL that is for directly downloading a PDF file. For such URLs, you’ll get the PDF stamp option.

This is how you can easily stamp any PDF file that you use as a digital product.

Student Perspective

On the stamped PDF lessons, students will see their own name, email, and user ID along with the image/logo; depending on the stamp settings you’ve set.

image

For the included or downloadable file, they can download and the stamp will appear on the downloaded PDF file. This is the same for all other lessons having the downloadable file attachment.

image

In the case of digital products, students can download the stamped PDF file from the Digital Products menu on the student dashboard.

Downloaded files, if stamped, will show the stamping as you’ve set.
